| Product Name | ADAMTS4 antibody |
| Product Description | Rabbit polyclonal to ADAMTS4 |
| Synonyms | A disintegrin like and metalloprotease (reprolysin type) with thrombospondin type 1 motif 4 ADAMTS2 ADMP1 Aggrecanase 1 KIAA0688 |
| Background | A disintegrin like and metalloproteinase thrombospondin type 1 motif 4 (ADAMTS4 or aggrecanase 1) is a member of the ADAMTS family of multidomain proteins that has demonstrated metalloproteinase functions. The ADAMTS4 protein contains a prohormone convertase cleavage site, thrombospondin 1 like domain, cysteine rich domain, and a propeptide domain. ADAMTS4 activity had been shown to be blocked by TIMP1, 2, 3, and 4. |
| Clonality | polyclonal |
| Host | Rabbit |
| Isotype | IgG |
| Immunogen | Synthetic peptide corresponding to the C-terminal (Human). |
| Antigen Species | Human |
| Tested Applications | Western blot. The usefulness of this product in other applications has not been determined. |
| Application Note | WB: Use at a dilution of 1/1000. A starting antibody dilution of 1/5000 is recommended for chemiluminescent substrates. Higher antibody dilutions may be necessary for non-human samples. Full length ADAMTS4 (837 amino acids) has a predicted mass of 90kDa, but glycosylation and the abundance of cysteine residues gives ADAMTS4 a greater apparent molecular weight under reducing conditions. The antibody detects the zymogen form at 98 kDa, activated forms at 64 kDa (major bands), and breakdown products at 30 kDa. EDTA/EGTA treatment of tissues or lysates is required to see latent zymogen. Not tested in other applications. Optimal dilutions/concentrations should be determined by the end user. |
| Species Cross Reactivity | Cross-reacts with Human. Not yet tested in other species. |
| Target | ADAMTS4 |
| Cellular Localization | Secreted. Associated with the extracellular matrix. |
| Purification | Immunogen affinity purified |
| Storage Buffer | Preservative: 0.05% Sodium Azide; Constituents: PBS with 50% Glycerol |
| Notes | If slight turbidity occurs upon prolonged storage, clarify the solution by centrifugation before use." |
